One-Eyed McFall

Well, I'm trying the mono vision deal again which is wearing a contact in my dominate eye for distance and my non-dominate eye doesn't have a contact for reading.  It's kind of weird the first time you put the contact in because your eyes "fight" each other to balance out your vision.  I had a follow up contact appointment after work tonight and the comfort of the contact (in my eye) was fine.  I was given one more (new) contact to try for two weeks (extended wear) and if my eyes can play nice together - I may go back to wearing contacts - or I should say wearing a contact.  I'd like to be able to wear my contact at work so I'm not continually taking my glasses on and off but it's very dry at work and I'm not sure if that will bother my eye with the contact.  My real goal with the contact was to not have to wear glasses on weekends, vacation, etc., when glasses would have been a "pain".

Speaking of pains - check out my boo boo.  I think it's healing ok.  I graduated from the jumbo sized bandaid that covered the lower third of my hand to the largest normal sized bandaid.  My wrist was SO tired of having something wrapped on/around it since a week ago Monday 24/7.

You'll notice I changed the font color from pink to blue - Mom and Dad said it was hard to read my blog on their Web TV and I did wonder if the pink color would be a little light.  Hopefully this color works for everyone.

I had to mow tonight and really didn't want to - but I got the front lawn taken care of.  I thought the new sod - which was VERY long - would plug the mower up every few feet but it wasn't too bad.  Now I have to attack the back yard tomorrow night after work.  Mowing isn't that big of a deal but when the grass seems to really grow and you mow 1-2-3 times a week it gets a little old.  And I know this winter when I'm shoveling inches of snow out of the driveway I'll be thinking I'd rather be mowing grass :)

Any blog experts out there - I'd like to insert a counter on my blog and also figure out why there is so much space on the right side between my Thought and Photo of the Muddy Greyhound.  Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's Not Herpes

At lunch checked my voicemail and found out the Herpes culture for my hand came back negative and the general culture came back not showing anything - so basically we're not sure what caused my hand problem but we know what it's not.  I'll keep putting ointment on it and covering my boo boo (my doc calls it a lesion but she went to med school to use those fancy terms) until it's healed.  I'm going to try to insert a few photos of my hand in this post - wish me luck.

I found out at lunch I cannot email on my cell phone and carry on a conversation at the same time...I have to do one or the other.

Tonight on the way home I had the sun roof open (the tilt option - not open all the way) and a song was playing on the radio when all-of-a-sudden I start to hear another song and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from.  It wasn't not real loud and it sounded like it was coming from the car, kind of like when wind makes "whistling" noises but it sounded like a song so maybe the radio was bringing in another station faintly......  And then I realized it was my cell phone in my bag.  I normally keep it on vibrate just so it doesn't "go off" during work or a meeting or something and evidently when I was showing the photos of my hand to Robin at lunch I turned the ringer back on the phone.  And since it's on vibrate I have no idea what my ring tone sounds like.

And......in the last week or so I must have hit the switch that turns the lights on when you open the car door because the light hasn't been coming on the past couple of nights when I've gotten in to drive....but it's been late when I've gotten home the past two nights and I didn't want to mess with setting the light incorrectly.  My luck I'd set the light so it would stay on all night then I'd come out to a dead battery the next morning when I'd be in a rush to go to work.  So tonight I figured I'd get this taken care of.  I turned one of the vanity lights on to make sure I could see what I was doing and found the setting so the light switch was flipped to the door mode and then got out of the car.  I let the dogs out and was going to go back to see if the light had gone off - nope.  I thought that was weird until I realized I had left the vanity light ON.  Once I turned the vanity light OFF I could tell the light that comes on when the door opens had turned off and all was right with the car - whew :)

Last Monday or Tuesday, little blisters became one big one.

After "surgery" last Wednesday.

Today, looks lots better - seriously :)

I've Got A Follower?! Wow :)

One of the first things I have to figure out is how to default the font to this font so I don't have to pick it every time I post :)

I have been running constantly since I got up this morning and had about an hour when I got home to let the dogs out, feed them, nuke something for me and head back out.  But I did get a second to quick check the blog and saw I had a follower - I couldn't believe it :)  This is going to be interesting.

I stopped by my doc's after work for a recheck on my hand and one of the culture results had come back - it's not Staph.  Still waiting on the Herpes culture.  I've never had a cold sore but if I had to choose between a cold sore and this "thing" on my hand I think I would chose the cold sore.  Doc said it could take up to a month to completely heal.  I'll continue to put ointment on it and stick a bandaid over it.  I may have to get a part-time job to pay for my doctor visits, meds and bandaids :)

Tonight was the first night our small groups met of the Christ Life class I'm taking.  Our goal was to go around, introduce ourselves and tell a little about us.  This is going to be a very indepth, soul-searching 11 week class and there will be times when it gets extremely personal and emotional - so there will be tears.  We were advised the guidelines on the box of Kleenex that is on the floor in the middle of the circle of our chairs.  We have a Facilitator, a Co-Facilitator and then four of us going through the course.  One of us definitely broke the ice when it came to tears, snot and using Kleenex - want one guess who that was????  Hmmmmmmmmmm.......oh ya, that was me...but hey...someone's got to be first, might as well be me.  We shared how we heard about the course, so I had to say how my husband had passed (and the tears started) five months ago today, and how my grief counselor recommended this course.  And I pretty much cried through the rest of introducing myself.

Need to find one of my famous jokes and then hit the hay.

Here I Go

Well, I've done a little reading on blogs and decided to give this a whirl and see what happens....so here goes.  Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and this will definitely be a work-in-progress.  Wish me luck :)
