Sandwich Maker, Baby Shower Gifts, Jeans and More

I know I haven't blogged about my job for a while, that's because I haven't been working for a while but that will change tomorrow when I return to Principal Financial.  I'm really excited about the position, the opportunities with it, and my manager is one of the ladies that interviewed me - we got along really well.  The only drawback is financial so I'm going to have to really tighten the belt for quite a while.  So tomorrow morning, on the coldest day we've had so far this winter - say a prayer for me as I start my new job by walking 2+ blocks from the parking lot to the building :) and also for Butler as he'll start being by himself during the day on a consistent basis.  If his back legs go out from under him and he goes down on the floor, he's on the floor until I get home and sometimes he's pretty shook up when I get home and get him up off the floor.

The other night I was doing something and looked at Butler and he'd gotten himself "stuck" getting off the bed.  His options were he could either try to fall off the bed himself or wait for me to help him off the bed - he waited for me.
Now he looks like "Mom will you quit taking my picture!"

I have decided that using the Target baby registeries is not for me - wedding registries are just fine.  A week ago Sunday I ran to Target to get a gift for a friend from church between church and the shower.  I took one look at the registry and realized there were hardly any aisle numbers marked where items were located so I grabbed an employee to help me find things.  We have another baby shower in a couple of weeks so I thought I'd brave the baby registry again - I'll never learn.  I head to the main aisle marked on the registry and guess what - no more aisle!  Gone, nada, empty floor space because there were rearranging.  I found an employee who tried to help me and she found the employee that worked the baby area.  The baby area employee couldn't even find things because where she thought they were moved to - they had been moved again...........................  I finally found something I liked, bought it and ran to the car.

As for the two pairs of jeans I bought the other day, one pair was ok but the other pair just wasn't cutting it.  The girl that checked me out said I could return the jeans - even after washing them in case they shrunk.  I couldn't believe that but since she'd told me that - I returned both pairs.  I'd used a VISA gift card to pay for them so thought I'd get cash back - nope a store gift card - lovely, I don't go to that store very often.  But a couple of days later I thought I'd go back and look for jeans and good work pants.  Of course no long in my size in anything.  I go to the kiosk to look online and found some jeans that came in long and one of the employees showed me where they were in the store - again no long but she suggested I try on a couple of pairs anyway to figure out my waist size which made sense.  Off to the changing room I go with two pairs of jean leggings (aka jeggings).  Had never tried those horrid things on before in my life and the smaller pair I couldn't even get past my calf..........  The bigger pair I could just get over my calf to find out they were too big in the waist.  I called it a day and headed for the car.

I finally joined the Pinterest cult the other day, have no idea what I'm doing, already have like 10 followers and 1 pin - yawow.  I don't even know how my friends on Pinterest know I'm on it to follow me.

I'm trying to expand my horizons with my evening meals so wondered what a sandwich maker would cost.  When I was at WalMart I thought I'd check them out and found a Rival model for $9.00 something but no sandwich makers in boxes on the shelf.  I find an employee to see if they had any in the back - nope - her little handheld dealie said they had two in stock on the shelf.  I told her I'd looked through everything and they were all Rival waffle makers on the shelf - no sandwich makers.  She told me I could buy the display model for 10% off without a box.  I wasn't sure until she picked up the sandwich maker and handed me the manual sitting beneath it - which was something I really needed.  I said ok and bought it.  I get home, put everything away, sit down to read my sandwich maker manual and it was the waffle maker manual - really???  Yep.  I thought how in the world am I going to get a sandwich maker manual from WalMart then thought - aha - go online and see if I could find the manual.  I did - joy, joy.  My printer drives me crazy so I thought, I'm going by the library this morning, stop in and print it off there - you get five free black/white printed sheets/day.  I log in as a patron, go to Rival's web site, find the .pdf file for the manual, click on it and get a message that some flash media or something needed to be loaded before it would print - which of course the library would not allow because they couldn't just let patrons load things willy nilly onto their computers.  I'm like really????  It's just a 5 page .pdf file!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Why does something special have to load before I can print it???  I'm trying to work up the strength to tackle my printer to print the manual.
