Hmmmmmmmmmm

Well I had intended to blog Sunday night like I try to do on a weekly basis but I spent almost three hours on the phone with tech support about my laptop from before 6:00 pm until almost 9:00 pm.  By the time I got off the phone there was no way I was going to blog :)

I can't remember if I shared about my "hole" on the back of my head - it's my cowlick (is that the right way to spell that?).  When I've had short hair I've had to make sure my hair wasn't too short there so my "hole" wouldn't show.  Well, just lately I've realized that with my hair longer - my "hole" is back and I asked the guy that cuts my hair about it.  He told me it wasn't a bald spot - which I knew it wasn't - but my hair is now growing at an angle and it splits right there.  Really?!  I wondered why if I swept my hair over a little from the side why it laid really nice over my "hole" - now I know.  So I have to really try to pull the wave out of that little bit of hair when I dry it in the morning.  But one day I got home from work, looked at the back of my head and I didn't just have my hole - I had parted the Red Sea down the back of my head.  I about died thinking "was that how my hair was all day and no one told me?!"  I informed Christi that if she ever saw my hair like that she needed to tell me - she assured me my hair was fine the day before and it was probably because I had my moonroof and driver's window open on the way home :)

I was pretty busy Saturday:
  • Christmas cards finally came down
  • Taxes finally got done and e-filed (both federal and state)
  • Car washed
  • Lawn mowed for the first time this season - in MARCH!
So....about the lawn and my issue with snakes last year.  I spent a little time talking to God (aka praying) about this issue.  I told Him that I had done several things (with Dad's help) to discourage snakes from being in my yard this year.  Holes were filled with dirt or caulk, brushy areas cleaned up, items they like to hide behind removed, along with the lawn being sprayed three times with snake repellant.  So I told Him that He had put emnity between the snake and Eve/women and I definitely had emnity last year with all my snakes.  And that nothing is too small to ask for Him to help us with, and that if we ask and have faith, He will take care of us.  I tossed some other scripture/promises at Him during our time together and said that I would walk out in my front and back yards this year - and future years - in faith that I would not have snakes.  And that I would blog and talk about this to be a witness to what God can do.

So while my mower pooped out on me like it had a tendancy to do last year - a friend has taken it to a lawn mower place for me - and I was really pooped after doing all that yard work - no snakes.  I am definitely not in lawn mowing shape since I didn't do it for half of last season.  The first picture below is Butler in the backyard before it was mowed.  The second and third pictures are after mowing.
