A Good Day

This morning I played around with my "almost finished" Branson Christmas vacation book - because I had some questions I needed Peg to answer at her Creative Memory Open House this morning.  It was really nice seeing Peg....it's been a while.  And she got me current and up-to-date on what I needed to do digital scrapbooking.  My goal is to finish the Branson Christmas book this next week, order it and have it back to take to Pella to show Mom and Dad when we celebrate Christmas.  Peg said if I can finish the book and order it before midnight Monday night I'll save like $6-$7 on shipping.  We'll see if I get it done by then or not.....

One of the things I do to help my folks is I do their Christmas card labels and Christmas letter - so today I printed their labels and did a rough draft of their letter.  I mailed off the letter so they can see how it looks on the page, proofread it and if all is okey dokey - I'll print a good copy for them and mail it with their labels.  They'll take the good copy to a quick printer in Pella and have it copied on green paper.

I headed to Lynn's house this afternoon so the two of us and her daughter, Ashley, could carpool to the Rejoice Christmas celebration/dinner tonight that was held at our parent church in Saylorville.  First off - Lynn became a grandma between 1:00 and 3:00 a.m. our time this morning!!!!!  And Ashley became an aunt.  Maddox along with mommy (Lynn's daughter) and daddy live in Washington DC and Lynn will be flying out to see them on the 15th for a few days.  So while at Lynn's I got to see photos of the baby and while looking at the photos she told me how she Skyped (sp) with Jenny while she was in labor and then again not too long after Maddox was born.  Technology is amazing.

I also got to meet her two four-legged kids, Molly (not sure how this is spelled) and Shelby.  Molly is a fiesty Sheltie that looks like a mini Lassie coloring wise but she is a sweetie.  Then there is Shelby, her little, quite old and blind in both eyes Yorkie that is absolutely precious.  I think I held Shelby the whole time I was at Lynn's before we left for Saylorville - it was like holding a little baby.  And Shelby can hold her own - don't think this little, old, blind-in-both eyes girl doesn't put Molly in her place :)  Lynn is a riot - she is directionally challenged when it comes to giving directions - she will be the first to admit this.  Well I learned something else tonight about Lynn - evidently it's always an adventure to be in the car with her when she's driving - and that's all I'm going to say about our drive to Saylorville.

I obviously have not been around crowds in quite a while because at one time in the vestibule/lobby of the church I was almost overwhelmed with the number of ladies there and thought I might need to step outside for a few moments.  All the tables were beautifully decorated and there was no way I could pick a favorite.  The meal was..............AWESOME!  The ladies at our table were a hoot and the program was great.  The photos below are the sanctuary of the Saylorville church where they took out all the chairs to set up for this event and they still didn't have enough room.  All the ladies from Living Waters Fellowship plus other ladies were in their fellowship hall area - which I'm guessing at one time was their old sanctuary.  One nice thing about being in the "overflow" room and the back of the overflow room - our row got to go through the food line first :)

I have lots of decorations for many holidays and used to really decorate the kitchen but the past few years didn't take the time to get the decorations out of the cupboard.  Today I thought I'd at least put my snowmen nativity set on the kitchen counter to give me some Christmas spirit.

All three pictures are kind of a panoramic view of the sanctuary and the tables at Rejoice.
